A new showroom of Saint-Gobain Shanghai R&D Center, located in Minhang Economic Development Zone, was unveiled recently. Saint-Gobain is a French company with a history of 357 years. Entering the Chinese market in 1985, Saint-Gobain aims to be a global leader in the field of light and sustainable construction, as well as a key player in the supply chain of key components for many high-tech industries, such as green energy, battery, automobiles, electronics and biopharma. In the new showroom of Saint-Gobain Shanghai R&D Center, visitors can learn about Saint-Gobain's advanced solutions in the related fields.
In 2005, Saint-Gobain Group established its fourth R&D center in Minhang District, gathering R&D experts in many fields, developing dozens of new products and filing around 20 patents every year. This world-class R&D center is not only one of the eight integrated R&D centers of the Group, but also the flagship R&D center of Saint-Gobain Asia-Pacific region, providing technical, product, and patent support to Saint-Gobain's manufacturing sites in China.
Ludovic Weber, CEO of Saint-Gobain in Asia Pacific region, commented in the interview that Saint-Gobain had received strong support from the government in Minhang District and would continue to expand its businesses in the Chinese market.
